Novatio needed a rebrand that communicated that its services were targeted at parents and kids seeking a premium, novel, inclusive online school for grades 4-8.
Old branding analysis from discovery.
Past branding lacked distinctness and target audience was not clear.
Novatio came to us with an existing website and rough brand identity. The compass motif was something that was liked from the start, because it connected with the idea of directed learning, the cornerstone of Novatio's unique model. The only problem was that we were missing the other half of a day at Novatio: Novatio Clubs, where kids explore their personal interests such as creative writing, robotics, or building a successful business.

A new identity that seeks to ride the line between sophistication, and child like wonder.
Our Solution for Novatio was to build upon the compass concept, and expand it to 4 Brand Pillars Icons that embody Novatio's core values: Flexible schedules (House), Life Skills (Cog), Directed Learning (Compass), and Individualized Support (Circle). The diamond at the center of the logo and these four pillars connects everything back to the student, who sit at the center of everything Novatio does.

Stickers on a fridge visual motif.
After experimenting with some printed materials while on-site in Arizona, we incorporated the "Stickers on a Fridge" visual motif. This means we will sometimes expand the stroke of some of the visual elements in the brand to give them a more tactile feel. This mimics the way they might look if a child were to put stickers on their fridge or laptop to decorate it.
